There were 27 major wildfires throughout California, with about 18,000 firefighters dealing with the situation. A two-year-old golden retriever named Kerith was also part of a team with an equally important role! She visited firefighter camps as a therapy dog and gave them the emotional support they need during challenging times.
Kerith was originally trained as a guide dog for the visually impaired, but her owner, Heidi Carman, later realized that her pet was perfect for the role of a therapy dog. Since last year, Kerith had been helping the medical staff and paramedics in the emergency room. However, with the start of the wildfires in California in 2020, this wonderful dog became a therapy dog for firefighters. Together with the owner, they visit the firefighters’ camps, where they enjoy interacting with Kerith, petting and playing with her as they recover from their hard shifts. Everyone loves this dog!
