Not far from a forest in Fort Worth, Texas, a stray German Shepherd was spotted, abandoned by her former owners. The dog appeared very scared and kept her distance from people, making it clear that she had been through a tough time.
Judy, head of a local rescue organization, understood the importance of gaining the dog’s trust. Having rescued many frightened and abandoned dogs from the area before, she knew to stay calm and patient. She approached the German Shepherd with a soothing voice, reassuring her that everything would be alright.
At first, the dog ran away into the forest upon seeing Judy and her car. However, Judy didn’t give up and came back every day to feed her. Eventually, the dog began to warm up to her.
One morning, the German Shepherd surprised Judy by leading her into the forest, where she revealed another frightened dog—a Pit Bull with scars on its face. It became evident that the German Shepherd wanted to ensure her friend’s safety too and indicated that they should be taken together.
Judy couldn’t resist and decided to rescue both dogs—she named them Iris (German Shepherd) and Clover (Pit Bull). Fortunately, neither of them had heartworm, which was a great relief for Judy. Now, she is actively searching for a foster home for them.
Through patience and love, Judy was able to turn their fear into smiles and happiness, giving them hope for a better life ahead.
