Myron sat down to browse through some childhood photos of his soon-to-be wife, capturing moments from her relaxing days on the Montenegrin coast.
As he flipped through the stack of pictures, something caught his eye, causing him to set them aside momentarily in disbelief. In the background of one of the photos, Myron spotted himself, despite the fact that he and his fiancée had not yet crossed paths during that time.
Verona Koliqi, born and raised in Kosovo, had spent her childhood in the company of her relatives in Montenegro. The particular photo was taken in Budva, with Verona and her friends prominently featured in the foreground.
“One day, while I was looking at an old beach snapshot from 10 years ago, I decided to show it to my fiancé,” Verona shared on social media. “Myron, in his usual observant manner, began examining the background and noticed a boy wearing the same shirt, shorts, and air mattress as him. It felt like something out of a fantasy.”
Indeed, the picture revealed a young Myron casually passing by, unaware of the future that awaited him. Like any 12-year-old child, he hadn’t paid much attention to those around him at the time.
The serendipitous discovery of their unexpected connection served to further strengthen the bond between the couple. Myron has since proposed to Verona, solidifying their love and creating a future together filled with shared memories, both past and yet to come.
