Rigby, a senior cat, plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of foster kittens under his owner’s care.

Around six years ago, a cat named Rigby found his way into Holly Bruckhauser’s home, captivating the family with his mesmerizing green eyes and distinctive mustache. Already having a pet named Cannon, Holly hoped that the two felines would form a strong bond.

Little did they know that Rigby had a special talent waiting to be discovered. When Holly began fostering kittens a year later, Rigby’s true calling revealed itself. He became an exceptional caretaker and guardian for all the tiny newcomers.

As soon as the foster kittens entered the household, Rigby would eagerly visit them, gently licking each one as if he were their real mother. His nurturing nature shone through, providing the kittens with the love and care they needed.

In particular, Rigby showed extra kindness towards orphaned kittens, often snuggling up with them and cradling them in his paws as they slept. Holly devised an ingenious method for feeding motherless kittens by placing a bottle of milk on Rigby’s body. The kittens would then feed while resting their paws on their devoted nanny’s stomach.

When a mother cat with her own kittens joined the foster family, Rigby respected their maternal role. As the kittens grew and became more playful, Rigby happily engaged with them, serving as an assistant to the mother cat.

Currently, Holly is caring for Milly, a mother cat with six babies, along with five orphaned kittens. Milly not only tends to her own offspring but also extends her motherly instincts to the singles. Rigby provides valuable assistance during this demanding task, stepping in for Milly during her breaks or mealtimes.

Rigby willingly endures hours of playtime with the kittens, allowing them to tug at his tail and nibble on his ears. The little ones adore their gentle and compassionate “caregiver” with all their hearts.

Every time new kittens arrive in the house, Rigby’s joy knows no bounds. He eagerly takes on the responsibility of looking after and caring for them, knowing that he has a vital role to play in their lives.
