The public has always been interested in the personal life of Janet Jackson. This is not only due to her famous family but also because the artist herself preferred not to address the numerous rumors surrounding her concerts.
Recently, Janet Jackson finally addressed rumors about having a secret child from her first marriage at 18.
In 1984, the singer married musician James DeBarge, but the couple divorced in 1985. Soon after, rumors circulated that a child was born during their marriage, which Janet, due to her young age, chose to keep hidden.
In a new documentary by Lifetime and A&E, Jackson finally put the rumors to rest. She explained that she had gained weight at the time due to birth control, which some people mistook as a sign of pregnancy. She denied giving birth to a child and giving the baby up to her sister or brother.
Janet emphasized that she would never prevent a child from seeing their father and that rumors about her family have been circulating for many years. She even addressed the rumor that her niece Stevanna was actually her daughter, stating that it was not true.
It is worth noting that Janet officially has only one child, a son named Issa, born in January 2017 from businessman Wissam Al Mana.
