One of the most significant fashion events of the year took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, with the current Met Gala paying tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, a German fashion designer who passed away in 2019 at the age of 85. Making their debut appearance as a couple at the event were Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse, who began dating towards the end of last year after being together for several years.
Waterhouse looked stunning in a sheer beige Fendi gown, with a vivid floral pattern and scenic birds covering the most tantalizing parts of her body. The outfit’s figure-hugging silhouette emphasized the model’s slender figure, while rhinestone-decorated high-heeled sandals completed the look. Waterhouse’s hair was styled with a center parting and cascaded gracefully over her shoulders, while her makeup was subtle.
Pattinson, who played the character of Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, sported a white shirt with a gold pin instead of a tie and a sophisticated black Dior tuxedo, complete with a pleated skirt and trousers. According to the Daily Mail, Pattinson’s outfit was accessorized with black patent leather pumps. The couple was seen exchanging affectionate embraces and tender glances while walking the pathway.
It’s worth noting that two of Pattinson’s former girlfriends, singer FKA Twigs and actress Kristen Stewart, were also present at the event. FKA Twigs and Pattinson dated from 2014 and even announced their engagement, but the romance fizzled out after three years. Stewart, who regarded Karl Lagerfeld as her mentor, couldn’t miss the Met Gala 2023. Pattinson and Stewart became close on the set of Twilight in 2009, and their relationship ended in 2013 after Stewart was caught having an affair with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders.
