Waiters have extremely arduous and hard jobs. Many of them like making new friends, but they just lack the time to converse with visitors.
There are, however, certain exceptions. The name Dylan Tetil belongs to one of these outliers.
One day, a senior citizen was seated at a café table. Suddenly, Dylan kneeled down in front of the elderly guy as he was taking the order.
Lisa was seated next to this table, watching what was happening with interest. She was able to overhear the man’s age and veteran status—he was 91 years old.
He claimed that he had neglected to bring his hearing aid with him since he had lost his hearing after serving in the Second World War. He also expressed regret to Dylan for talking so much, but he had no one else to talk to.
Dylan knelt down on one knee to facilitate communication.
The young server asked the older guy for permission to sit with him and talk when the food arrived. The man happily concurred, and they had an interesting talk for a while. The man related tales of his military duty and his hearing loss.
Lisa posted this article and the picture on social media. Many remarks were made in praise of Dylan’s performance.
People praised the young waiter’s kind act and noted that even 10 minutes of conversation may mean a lot to seniors.
They praised the veteran and waiter as a superb team and asserted that a strong relationship had surely formed between them.
