A Corona resident discovered four brand-new, gorgeous pups in his yard one day. He started looking for their mother since he first believed she may be someplace close, but he was unable to locate her.
So the man who was packing the tiny critters into a box brought them to 2nd Chances Rescue, a nearby animal sanctuary.
Andrea, one of the rescue volunteers, saw the adorable puppies and fell in love with them right away because they were too young to go to the shelter.
While the wonderful mother gave the pups excellent care, they soon discovered someone else caring for them and showing them his affection. It appeared to be a dog, but it was actually a large tortoise by the name of Goliath.
Goliath was another rescued animal with a strong and enduring bond to his owner. Andrea made the decision to bring her 80-pound Goliath buddy to the abandoned puppies. The gentle giant and the four new family members had a unique relationship. Their friendship began to grow day by day.
While Andrea had some reservations about Goliath accepting the puppies, she was wrong. Nevertheless, the kind mother became anxious one day when she was unable to locate the puppies anywhere. They were ultimately discovered by the worried woman within Goliath’s shell.
Then, she realized that big tortoises and tiny canines share a unique bond.
