A male llama named Dalai lives with his loving owners on a farm in Albuquerque, USA. He recently turned 27 years old and unexpectedly achieved record-breaking status. Dalai became the world’s oldest llama, beating the previous record holder by a year.
The average life expectancy of llamas is about 20 years, but Dalai has surpassed his relatives and he is still in the prime of his life! The llama’s family is happy that their beautiful boy has lived to such an honorable age. They celebrated his birthday well – with a cake, a photo session, relatives and friends. The llama’s best friend, a pygmy goat, was even there.
You can’t immediately see it in the photo, but Dalai is one-eyed from birth. He has lived with the Streit family since 2007, and the owners love him dearly. The farmers have a 13-year-old daughter who grew up with the llama, and they have a special bond.
