Animal rescuers in the U.S. city of St. Louis received a report of a stray dog hiding fearfully under a car. The emaciated, dehydrated, and sad-looking dog would not let people near him. And when rescuers arrived and approached him, he started growling distrustfully.
Although the dog growled, his sad eyes begged for help and love. He turned out to be very hungry, so he immediately ate all the sausages the volunteer gave him. After a small snack, the dog seemed to trust the woman, and even started wagging his tail.
After that, the volunteer placed the sausages closer and closer to her car. The dog modestly got out, and though he paced tentatively, he continued to wag his tail.
The volunteers then managed to carefully place the dog in the car. They identified him as a pit bull and gave him the nickname Avalanche. At the shelter, they took care of him, started feeding him on a schedule to make him gain weight, and gave him the right medications to restore his body. The dog was weak, with injuries on his body from lying on the pavement for so long.
Before the new year, they found a rehome for Avalanche. He is still recovering and is still learning to fully trust people, but he is already very grateful for his rescue. Let’s hope he finds a better family in the future!
