Once in a shelter, homeless animals often have to spend more than one or two months there. However, some pets are particularly unlucky in this respect. Years go by, and they still remain residents of cages, unnoticed by anyone, without a chance for a better life.
The charming dog named Richie came to the Novosibirsk shelter as a very young puppy. The usual color, medium size, a moderately pretty face – these dogs in the shelters are usually quite a lot.
Perhaps his most outstanding trait was his incredible activity. He loved to walk, jog and play, and he possessed a lot of energy and a great desire to socialize. He needed owners who would be sympathetic to his active nature.
However, as the years passed, Richie remained at the shelter. He had matured from a young dog into a strong, statuesque dog. He could greet people with leaps and cuddles and knock them down with his powerful paws in a burst of love!
Richie spent four years in the care of volunteers. Of course, they went for walks with him when they had time, and gave him attention, but it was not enough. Spending your whole life in a shelter is not the most enviable fate for any dog.
One day Richie was introduced to Tatiana, a volunteer at the shelter. Knowing his story, she thought she wouldn’t mind taking the positive and active guy into her home. And so she did!
Richie happily settled in with Tatiana, as if he hadn’t been in the shelter for several years. He learned how to behave in the apartment, and he takes his energy out on walks, which now abound in his life.
Richie’s story has a happy ending and a positive attitude. Let’s wish all homeless animals the same good luck!
